Happy New Year 2017
Everyone wants to start off the new year right.
Still not sure where to spend new year's eve? looking for a different way to celebrate it?
Why don’t you celebrate New Year’s Eve the way Catalans and Spanish do!?
According tradition, those who can eat the twelve grapes in time, to the speed of a grape for stroke, will have a year of good luck. That’s why everyone in Catalonia, no matter if they are at home or walking in the streets, is carrying a bag of grapes the 31st at midnight.
FIRST SWIM OF THE YEAR-
1st of January A relatively new tradition dating back to a couple of decades, the first swim of the year has been part of Barcelona’s and Catalonian's start-of-the-year rituals. It is a way of entering the New Year through sport, health and energy. This collective plunge into the Mediterranean, only for those unafraid of winter sea temperatures, is usually held at midday on 1 January. Grab your towel and a thermos with hot tea!
